Give your dog some eco-friendly fun with these upcycled t-shirt fabric chew toys.

Our furry friends deserve all the love and fun we can give! But, as pet owners, the people at Upcycle know that purchasing dog toys can be an environmental rabbit-hole we simply cannot afford.

Typically dog chew toys are made from hard plastics – which are quickly reduced to plastic confetti by over eager jaws. Small pieces of plastic and rubber land up all over your lawn, carpet and even in the digestive systems of our pets! The 3-5 minutes of fun hardly seem to justify the mess left in your home and in the environment.

Plastic waste does not biodegrade, but is broken down into smaller and smaller pieces of plastics (called micro plastics) which pollute our planet and accumulate in the bodies of living organisms  – humans and doggies included.

Our fabric chew toys are made from upcycled 100% cotton fabric, making them largely biodegradable and are crafted using a macramé technique.

Available in small, medium and large sizes, we have the right size to fit your furball.

Due to the upcycled nature of the materials, each one is unique. However, should you have custom design or color requirements please contact us so we can meet your needs.

These colourful dog toys are made by our communities, we get t-shirts from a corporate branding company they are brand new and heavily branded due to misprints, they cut the non branded part into strips for the dog toys and the rest gets cut up into stuffing sized pieces for our meditation cushions, bean bags etc

We also have a few young learners that are on a learnership at our shop 174 Long road Greymont. These learners are learning a few different skills so that they can start their own community centers in their areas to help the unemployed people in their area to make a living, one of these skills is the Dog toys.
