Description:
Our Shwe Shwe-covered notebooks are more than just stationery—they are works of art with purpose. Each notebook is rebranded to eliminate any traces of outdated corporate logos or designs, ensuring a fresh start as a zero-waste product. This process also includes providing companies with a destruction certificate, guaranteeing their materials are handled responsibly.
The rebranding initiative began when a corporate client turned to Upcycle with surplus branded books destined for the landfill. By covering the notebooks with donated and carefully selected fabric, we gave these products a second life. The Shwe Shwe fabric not only adds a cultural and stylish flair but also transforms the books into desirable items for personal use or gifting. Ideal for journaling, note-taking, or corporate giveaways, these notebooks are as functional as they are meaningful.
To create these notebooks, we rely on generous fabric contributions from partners like Hayley Joy and GoodBye Malaria. The Shwe Shwe fabric has become a favourite, as it embodies South African culture while ensuring a professional and vibrant finish. Clients can request customized materials for their orders, but it’s essential to consult us beforehand to ensure the fabric choice works best for this process.

Environmental impact:
Upcycling surplus notebooks and fabric not only diverts waste from landfills but also reduces the environmental footprint associated with producing new materials. By repurposing discarded corporate books and fabric off-cuts, we cut down on energy use, water consumption, and pollution.
This initiative promotes a circular economy, ensuring that waste is transformed into valuable products while creating jobs and fostering community empowerment. Supporting these notebooks means making a positive impact on both the environment and the lives of those involved in their creation.
